Gifts in Kind

Anonymous Donor – One of the greatest gifts in recent years has been the ongoing donation of a warehouse in Calgary. Prior to receiving this gift, we had to work out of temporary sites, requiring that we move all supplies between work sites and storage facilities. A very generous man who wishes to remain anonymous donated a 4000 square foot facility including heating, electricity, garbage and cardboard removal. This gift in kind is an invaluable, allowing us to purchase items when they are on sale and to store them in a clean and safe facility year-round. Over 500 volunteers a year come to this kindly-donated warehouse to assemble and inspect backpacks. It is wonderful to be able to welcome them to such a great facility, where we can provide a memorable volunteering experience.

Highland Moving have been an outstanding and faithful supporter of Stephen’s Backpacks for many years. Liam always goes over and above, and he and his teams have saved the day logistically speaking on many occasions. Many man-hours of driving and delivery services have been kindly donated to us each year, not to mention furniture assembly when asked on occasion! The enthusiasm and professionalism of Liam and his teams is truly remarkable. We could not achieve any of our goals to the extent we currently do, without their kind gift.

The Real Canadian Superstore in Airdrie provides hundreds of dollars in food donations each year for our Four Seasons of Hope program.
Manager Suzanne Turner, a well-respected member of our community, remains a treasured supporter of Stephen’s Backpacks Society.
She has held many July 1st BBQ fundraising events for us, not to mention providing food hampers for Airdrie schools and hospitality trays for our volunteers. We can’t thank her enough.
